TMC has been accused of the attack.

A video of this has also surfaced, in which people can be seen throwing stones from both sides. Voting in the area is also expected to be affected due to stone pelting. BJP has been saying for a long time that there can be violence during elections in Bengal. This is the reason why Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s party TMC has been accused of the attack on the BJP leader.

TMC workers also injured

According to news agency PTI, violence also took place in West Bengal on Thursday (April 18) night, when two TMC workers were attacked by unknown assailants. Both TMC workers were injured in this attack in Cooch Behar. North Bengal Development Minister and TMC’s Dinhata MLA Udayan Guha accused BJP of conspiring the attack. He said that both the workers were going to the booth committee president’s house in Dinhata when they were stopped and attacked with sharp weapons.

BJP denied any involvement in the attack

A local BJP leader has denied any involvement in the attack on TMC workers. He said, “This is the internal discord of TMC. BJP has no hand in it.” Voting is taking place in the first phase in Cooch Behar, Jalpaiguri and Alipurduar of Bengal. At the same time, the police, showing promptness, deployed a large number here from the night itself, so that no conflict of any kind was seen. A police officer said that TMC workers were injured. The matter is being investigated and the search for the attackers is ongoing.
