Expansion

During the election campaign, while the BJP candidates were shooting arrows like an archer, the central leadership was always seen in the role of a charioteer. The central leadership kept teaching every trick of the election strategy. At some places, the BJP trapped the opposition in a Chakravyuh, and at other places, it broke through the Chakravyuh of the opposition and won all the seven seats. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah also worked their magic during the election. The rallies held by both of them in the parliamentary constituencies showed an impact.

After the first rally of the Prime Minister in North-East Delhi, BJP was sure of victory. In the two and a half months of campaigning, many arrows of attack and counter-attack were fired from both sides. There were many such turns where Aam Aadmi Party completely surrounded the BJP candidates. With Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal going to jail and Sunita Kejriwal getting involved in the campaign, getting sympathy votes was proving to be difficult.

BJP was not able to find a counter to this. To counter this, BJP fielded Bansuri Swaraj and Kamaljit Sehrawat. The slogan ‘jail ka jawaab vote’ was also proving to be a burden for BJP at one time. As soon as the Swati Maliwal issue came up, BJP completely attacked Aam Aadmi Party and brought the state BJP Mahila Morcha to the streets for protests.

The alliance between AAP and Congress also led to disappointment in BJP at one point, but the Congress party joining BJP under the leadership of Arvind Singh Lovely and the disintegration of the state Congress in a way helped in creating an atmosphere in favour of BJP. After getting bail from jail, Kejriwal was creating an atmosphere in favour of the party like a seasoned politician by campaigning vigorously. Meanwhile, to intensify the attack on him, the central leadership brought in the Chief Ministers of all the states including Yogi Adityanath for the election campaign.

Worked to surround the coalition

Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav was handling the war room after reaching the state BJP office. Many leaders including Union Minister Rajnath Singh, Nitin Gadkari put AAP and Congress party in the dock. In the elections, BJP not only worked on the policy of cornering the alliance through social media, but also kept the army of workers engaged in public meetings, rallies, door-to-door campaign even in the scorching heat. The central leadership also worked to save the party from the danger of sabotage.
