Former Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav’s party released the list of its 22 candidates. In this Lok Sabha election, the national party Janata had announced to contest on 26 seats. Out of these, three seats were given to Vikassheel Insaan Party. Late on Tuesday night, RJD declared candidates for 22 out of 23 seats. The name of the candidate for Siwan seat has not been announced. Hina Shahab, former MP and wife of late Shahabuddin, has announced to contest this seat as an independent candidate. She is angry with RJD. The name of RJD’s senior leader and former Assembly Speaker Avadh Bihari Chaudhary is being discussed. There is a possibility that RJD may make him the candidate from Siwan Lok Sabha seat.

Tejashwi Yadav may call RJD the party of mother (Muslim and Yadav) and father (Bahujan and poor) in every election meeting, but while distributing tickets, he took special care of Yadav vote bank. Lalu Prasad gave tickets to a total of eight Yadav candidates. Three Koeri, three Dalit, two Muslim, two upper caste, one Kurmi and one Baniya candidate have been given tickets. Talking about family, Lalu Prasad has given Lok Sabha tickets to his two daughters this time. Rajya Sabha MP Misa Bharti has been fielded from Patliputra and Rohini Acharya has been fielded from Chapra Lok Sabha seat.

JDU rebels also given tickets

Lalu Prasad gave preference to the rebels who left CM Nitish Kumar’s party. These include Abhay Kushwaha, Mohd. Ali Ashraf Fatmi and Bima Bharti. Kushwaha has been made candidate from Aurangabad, Fatmi from Madhubani and Bima from Purnia seat. Whereas former MLA and Bahubali Munna Shukla has been made the candidate from Vaishali.
