Two lists of Congress candidates have come. Many candidates have also been announced in states like Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Assam. But till now not a single candidate has been declared on 17 seats of Uttar Pradesh. It is also being discussed in the political circles of Uttar Pradesh that perhaps Rahul Gandhi will not contest elections from Amethi this time. Whereas Priyanka Gandhi’s claim of victory from Rae Bareli is being speculated a lot. The situation is that even though the state leadership has recommended Priyanka Gandhi to contest elections from Rae Bareli, Congress is still conducting a survey of safe seat for Priyanka Gandhi through phone in Rae Bareli.
Congress Party has released the list of Lok Sabha candidates twice so far in different states. But speculation continues regarding the Amethi and Rae Bareli seats of Uttar Pradesh, held by two big Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi. In a major state like Uttar Pradesh, many discussions are taking place regarding the non-declaration of seats by Congress till now. It is even being said in the political circles that the party is still not sure about Priyanka Gandhi’s seat whether she should be fielded or not. This is the reason why there is doubt over making Priyanka Gandhi the candidate from Rae Bareli and Rahul Gandhi from Amethi. However, the Congress Party has not yet given any official information regarding its two prominent leaders contesting the elections in Uttar Pradesh. But the State Congress Election Committee of Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee has sent a proposal to Rahul and Priyanka to contest the elections.
According to sources, the Congress party is still trying to ascertain whether Rae Bareli will be a safe seat for Priyanka Gandhi, who is contesting the elections for the first time. According to the information, a survey is also being conducted among the people in Rae Bareli through phone regarding the strength of the seat. It is being told that in the survey, direct questions are being asked regarding the strong claim of Priyanka Gandhi. However, the party had earlier also conducted a survey in Rae Bareli. According to sources associated with the Congress Party, as per the reports so far, the local people of Rae Bareli have received assurance of victory if anyone from the Gandhi family is made a candidate. But it is being said in the political circles that the Congress Party is still in a state of confusion whether to field Priyanka Gandhi in the election or not.
