In the first list of Lok Sabha elections, BJP has placed bets on new faces in Delhi. BJP has surprised by fielding new candidates on four out of five seats. All four will contest the Lok Sabha elections for the first time. Bansuri Swaraj has been made the candidate from New Delhi seat in place of sitting MP and Union Minister of State Meenakshi Lekhi. Bansuri’s first reaction after getting the ticket has come out in which she said that she had started her political journey from Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad and now after being declared BJP candidate from New Delhi Lok Sabha in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections 2024, she will join hands with her fellow workers. Bansuri Swaraj is the daughter of former External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj. He was born in Delhi in 1982. Bansuri Swaraj was enrolled in the Bar Council of Delhi in the year 2007. He has about one and a half decade of experience in the legal profession. He graduated from the University of Warwick with a BA (Hons) in English Literature. After this Bansuri studied law at the prestigious BPP Law School in London. He qualified as a Barrister at Law. He then completed his Master of Studies from St. Catharine’s College, Oxford University.

Swaraj has represented many high-profile clients. His professional portfolio includes disputes involving contracts, real estate, tax, international commercial arbitration as well as numerous criminal prosecutions. Swaraj was appointed as Additional Advocate General for the state of Haryana along with running her private practice. Last year, Bansuri Swaraj was made the state co-convenor of the law cell of Delhi state by BJP. This time BJP has fielded him in the Lok Sabha elections.

BJP has given ticket to Manoj Tiwari from North-East Delhi, Kamaljit Singh Sherawat from West Delhi, Ramveer Singh Bidhuri from South Delhi, Bansuri Swaraj from New Delhi and Praveen Singh Khandelwal from Chandni Chowk. The tickets of Meenakshi Lekhi from New Delhi, Dr. Harsh Vardhan from Chandni Chowk, Pravesh Verma from West Delhi and Ramesh Bidhuri from South Delhi have been canceled.
