BJP has announced 195 candidates for the Lok Sabha elections 2024. In the first list itself, names have been announced for all the 11 seats of Chhattisgarh. 2 MPs have been given another chance. Minister Brijmohan Aggarwal is contesting the Lok Sabha elections from Raipur. BJP has given tickets to 3 women in 11 seats.

In its first list, BJP has given another chance to two sitting MPs Vijay Baghel from Durg and Santosh Pandey from Rajnandgaon. Rajya Sabha MP from Korba, Saroj Pandey, Kamlesh Jangde from Janjgir, Roop Kumari Chaudhary from Mahasamund have got tickets. Chintamani Maharaj, who joined BJP from Congress, has been given ticket from Surguja.

The party has fielded minister Brijmohan Aggarwal from Raipur. Minister Aggarwal has a good hold on the organization and the workers. He had won the 2023 assembly elections by a record margin. Keeping in view the geographical equation of Raipur division, the party has made Agarwal its candidate. BJP’s Sunil Soni had won from this seat in the 2019 elections. The party has given another chance to Santosh Pandey from Rajnandgaon seat. The party wanted to avoid the charge of nepotism, hence Dr. Raman Singh’s son Abhishek Singh was not given the ticket.

The party has made veteran state woman leader Saroj Pandey its candidate from Korba. In 2019, Jyotsna Mahant of Congress had won from this seat. Pandey had contested assembly elections from Vaishali Nagar seat of Bhilai in 2008. In 2009, when he was mayor, BJP fielded him as MLA and Lok Sabha candidate from Durg seat in the general elections. While he was an MP, the party made him the president of Rashtriya Mahila Morcha.

From Surguja, the party has given ticket to Chintamani Maharaj in place of Renuka Singh. Congress did not give ticket to Chintamani Maharaj in the assembly elections. He joined BJP. There is a large section in Surguja region who believe in Vechintamani Maharaj.

In Bilaspur, Tokhan Sahu has been given a chance in place of Arun Saav. Sap has been made the Deputy Chief Minister in the state. Lakhan Sahu has been BJP MLA from Lormi. Sahu is an active young OBC face in both BJPs. Bharatiya Janata Party has also made him the state president of Kisan Morcha in the organization.

The party has made Radheshyam Rathiya its candidate from Raigarh seat in place of Gomti Sai. Rathiya was seeking ticket for assembly elections from Dharamjaygarh Assembly for a long time. Rathiya was also made the election director of Dharamjaygarh assembly in the last Lok Sabha elections. Before this, Rathiya had also been the former district president and general secretary of District Kisan Morcha.

Kamlesh Jangde of Sakti Assembly has been given a chance in place of Guharam Ajgale from Janjgir Lok Sabha constituency. Kamlesh Jangde has worked as the district president of BJP Mahila Morcha. She has once lost the District Panchayat election. Former MLA Roop Kumari Choudhary has been made the candidate in place of BJP’s Chunnilal Sahu from Mahasamund. Roop Kumari has been MLA from Basna assembly constituency from 2013 to 2018.
