Narrating an incident after becoming the PM for the first time, he said, “When I was going to Israel, all the intellectuals said that if you are going to Israel, you should also go to Palestine. Secularism in India is such that if you go to Hanuman temple, you have to give Iftaar. But I thought that I will go to Israel alone and if I go to Palestine, I will go there only and will not go to Israel.”

‘Israeli planes were my security while going to Palestine’

Describing his visit to Palestine, PM Modi said, “There was some logistics problem during my visit to Palestine, I needed a helicopter. I was going from Jordan. The King of Jordan is the direct heir of the Prophet and he also called me. When I was going to Palestine in the helicopter of the King of Jordan, 6 Israeli planes were providing security to it. “I got the same respect in Palestine as I did in Israel.”
