There has been a political uproar 12 hours before the voting of Purnia Lok Sabha elections, where four workers of independent candidate Rajesh Ranjan alias Pappu Yadav have been arrested by the police along with dummy EVM and Thar vehicle. This has been confirmed by Sadar SDPO Pushkar Kumar. Sadar SDPO Pushkar Kumar said that late at night, some supporters of independent candidate Pappu Yadav were roaming around and campaigning with a Thar vehicle. Meanwhile, during vehicle checking, police arrested four supporters with dummy EVMs while campaigning at night. The police has also seized the Thad vehicle. The matter is a matter of Assistant Treasurer police station area.
There was commotion even during the day
The campaigning under Purnia Lok Sabha regarding the second phase of elections had stopped at 6:00 pm on Wednesday evening itself. Police say that even today during the day, Pappu Yadav was roaming with his supporters in Kodha Assembly constituency under Purnia Lok Sabha without permission. Also, the vehicle in which Pappu Yadav was found roaming in Kodha was not even allowed to drive. Pappu Yadav was found traveling in four vehicles with his supporters without the permission of the administration. After which Katihar DSP Abhijeet Singh seized Pappu Yadav’s car and registered a case in Kodha police station. Pappu Yadav had accused DSP Abhijeet Singh of misusing his power and misbehaving.
