This time, MP Dimple Yadav will face the challenge of saving the legacy of SP founder Mulayam Singh Yadav on Mainpuri Lok Sabha seat. His daughter-in-law Dimple Yadav contested the by-election held after the death of Mulayam Singh Yadav while he was an MP. There was a huge wave of sympathy in favor of SP in the by-election.
BSP and Congress remained out of the election field. Mulayam Singh Yadav contested the MP election for the first time in the year 1996 from Mainpuri Lok Sabha seat. He won by defeating BJP’s strong candidate Upadesh Singh Chauhan. After this, whenever Mulayam Singh Yadav contested elections, he always won.
Mulayam Singh Yadav considered Mainpuri as his workplace. He had direct affection for the people of the district. He got support from every section. To defeat him, BJP fielded candidates from every caste but BJP always had to face defeat.
After the death of Mulayam Singh Yadav, by-election was held in the year 2022. SP made Dimple Yadav its candidate. In the by-election, BJP fielded former MP Raghuraj Singh Shakya. Congress and BSP kept themselves away from the by-elections. There was a huge sympathy wave in the by-election. BJP candidate Raghuraj Singh Shakya had to face defeat against SP candidate in the by-election.
