Under the fourth phase in Munger Lok Sabha constituency today, the voting process started from 7:00 am at 2029 polling stations in Munger, Jamalpur, Lakhisarai, Suryagarh, Barh, Mokama and voters gradually came in large numbers to vote. Election duty forcibly given even after applying
Family members allege that Omkar Chaudhary was seriously ill. He had also applied regarding his illness but he was forcibly given duty by the district administration due to which he died. Family members told that despite his body being unwell, his duty was imposed in the Lok Sabha elections. He had also given an application regarding this and had appealed to the district administration that in view of his serious condition, he should be kept away from election duty but the district administration did not listen. Today he died of heart attack. After getting information about the incident, police from several police stations including Kotwali reached Sadar Hospital and are investigating the matter.
What is written in the application
Omkar Kumar Chaudhary had written in the application to the DM that I have been ill for the last one month. I am being treated by Dr. Hemshankar Sharma of Bhagalpur from 11th April 2024. During the treatment, echo, ECG, blood test and CTangiography of our body were examined by Dr. Sumit Shankar. After the test report, Dr. Sumit Shankar said that you are suffering from widespread disease. Therefore, you will have to get the operation done as soon as possible otherwise a heart attack can happen at any time. He said that from today onwards you will be prohibited from walking, climbing stairs, driving etc. You have to walk comfortably and not take too much tension because your blood pressure is high. I have been having pain in my chest and left arm since a month. After this treatment, I have been referred to Kolkata. Our condition is very serious, therefore, considering my serious condition, please kindly relieve me from election work. Omkar Kumar Chaudhary had also attached a ten-page investigation slip and report along with his application, even after this he was not released from the election and today he lost his life.
