Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav, who reached Prayagraj to take stock of the preparations related to the Maha Kumbh Mela, said that during the Maha Kumbh, Prayagraj will have direct connectivity with every corner of the country. During this period, long distance reserved trains will run for Prayagraj from 50 cities including Chennai and Mumbai. The Railway Minister said that this time another special arrangement is being made during Mahakumbh. To ensure that there is no cross movement of passengers on the footover bridge built at the railway stations of Sangam city, passengers will be able to cross the bridge from one direction to the other only.

This arrangement will be in place at all stations. In view of the crowd gathered there after the Pran Pratistha ceremony held in Ayodhya last year, color coding was done at Ayodhya railway station. The same arrangement will be in place at all the stations of Prayagraj also. Only after settling according to the color code, the passengers will reach the confirmed platform for direction wise travel. Passenger shelters will also be of four different colours. For example, if a passenger wants to go to Lucknow, he will have to enter from the blue colored shelter of the junction. The passenger ticket will also be blue in colour. Blue colored indicators will also be installed on the path leading from the shelter to the platform. The Railway Minister said that a total of 23 passenger shelters have been made at the stations of Sangam city.
