Although earlier the record of the longest train was held by South Africa. A train weighing 71,600 tonnes was run there in 1991. This train ran between Saishen to Saldanha and was filled with iron ore. There were 660 wagons in it and its length was 7,200 meters. Nine electric and seven diesel locomotive engines were installed to pull it.

India’s longest train

Indian Railways has planned to launch it on 15th August in the year 2022. The day he achieved the feat of running the country’s longest and heaviest train. It was named Super Vasuki. Let us tell you that not one or two but five engines were installed to pull this 3.5 kilometer long goods train. 27,000 tonnes of coal was filled in 295 coaches of this train. It ran from Korba in Chhattisgarh to Nagpur and completed the journey of 267 kilometers in 11 hours 20 minutes. Earlier, Railways had also run trains like Anaconda and Sheshnag.
