Under this, Haryana Government has started ‘Mukhyamantri Horticulture Insurance Scheme’ MBBY to compensate the farmers for the losses due to natural disasters. Under this, 23 vegetables, 21 fruits and 2 spices crops can be insured.
Haryana Horticulture Department, while posting on social media platform Tutor i.e. X, has said that farmers should take extra precautions to protect horticulture crops from cold wave. Chief Minister Horticulture Insurance Scheme has been started to compensate for the losses in horticulture crops. 23 vegetables, 21 fruits and two spice crops were included in the scheme.
Now the Haryana government will cover the losses caused to horticulture crops due to adverse weather and natural disasters through ‘Mukhyamantri Horticulture Insurance Scheme’. Under this, farmers will have to pay 2.5% per acre premium amount, Rs 750 per acre for vegetables and spices and Rs 1,000 per acre for fruits.

This much compensation will be given
The minimum compensation amount for vegetables and spices is Rs 15,000 per acre and maximum Rs 30,000. Whereas for fruits, the minimum compensation amount payable will be Rs 20,000 and maximum Rs 40,000. Apart from this, the compensation amount will be transferred directly to the account of the registered farmer. The compensation amount will be based on the survey conducted by the committee.
