There was a ruckus between two parties on Sunday night in Banthra village of Lucknow regarding electricity supply. One party attacked the entire family by attacking the house of the other party. A 20-year-old youth was beaten so badly that he died. The family members have accused the Banthra police of negligence. Village resident Babban Pandey works in the property business. He also has a complex in the area. There was a power crisis in the village for the last three days.
On Sunday night around 10 o’clock, the supply started on one side while it could not start in Babban’s area. Electricity workers were working. Then Babban’s 20-year-old son Hrithik Pandey reached the spot with a couple of people. Rishu Singh and other people from the village were present there. There was a dispute and scuffle between these two regarding starting the electricity supply. Hrithik returned home. After some time, Rishu and his family members reached Babban’s house with many people. It is alleged that all of them together beat up the whole family, in which Hrithik was beaten the most, along with Babban and his other son Abhishek also got injured. All were taken to the hospital. Meanwhile, their servant filed a complaint in the police station but the police asked him to come in the morning.

On the other hand, a complaint was filed against Hrithik by the electricity department. On this, the police started raiding his house. After some time, Hrithik was taken home from the hospital, but his condition deteriorated again in the early morning. He was taken to Lokbandhu Hospital where he died.
The family members say that the police did not take any action at night. They even denied receiving the complaint. DCP South Tej Swaroop Singh said that the investigation of the case has been handed over to ACP Krishnanagar and action is being taken on the basis of the complaint.
