Expansion
The 80 km Lucknow-Kanpur highway will become the largest industrial corridor of UP. CM Yogi Adityanath had entrusted the task of preparing the master plan of this scheme, which will transform the entire region, to the UP State Industrial Development Authority (UPIDA). On this, UPIDA has prepared the X-LIDA (Lucknow Industrial Development Authority) Master Plan 2041. It was released on Thursday.
The main objective of the scheme is to develop this area as a major economic corridor by promoting industrialization within 80 km radius of Lucknow-Kanpur National Highway. Under this, 45 villages of Lucknow and 40 villages of Unnao district have been included as notified areas, which are spread over about 300 square kilometers. School of Planning and Architecture New Delhi has been appointed as consultant for this important project.
In the master plan, Kanpur-Lucknow Expressway, Ganga Expressway and Lucknow Ring Road have been connected with the existing NH-27. All these projects will be developed as multi-modal transit and logistics hubs. Farmers will get the biggest benefit of seamless transportation and they will get better prices for their crops. Five zones have been created under the plan, which are based on warehousing agglomeration, residential development, expressway and ring road. These include Lucknow-Kanpur Highway, Lucknow-Kanpur Expressway, Ganga Expressway, Lucknow Outer Ring Road and Kanpur Ring Road, which will solve logistics problems by improving connectivity between Lucknow and Kanpur.
Not only investment, employment opportunities will also increase
UPDA, UPDIC, Panchayati Raj Office, CTCP, State Tourism Department, UPPCB, Lucknow Development Authority, Commissioner-Lucknow, and Unnao-Shuklaganj Development Authority have been roped in to implement the master plan. It will focus on the impact of tanneries, inclusion of Nawabganj Bird Sanctuary as a tourist destination and widening of roads. Lucknow-SCR (State-Central-Region) will be developed on the lines of Delhi-NCR. This initiative will not only attract private investment but will also transform the surrounding areas. Spreading employment opportunities in many districts will also help in reducing the congestion in cities.
UPSIDA CEO Mayur Maheshwari says that under the vision and instructions of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, UPSIDA has prepared the X-LIDA Master Plan 2041. This will not only lead to rapid economic development, but will also create new employment opportunities. The master plan will make the state a hub of warehousing and logistics. This initiative will create the state’s largest industrial corridor in Lucknow, Unnao and Kanpur. The integration of the high-speed dedicated freight corridor connecting Lucknow and Kanpur will lay a strong foundation for the state capital region.
