The fifth night of Maa Kushmanda Durga Sangeet Samaroh was dedicated to folk music. On one hand, the Bhajan Mandali of Kashi sang the glory of the mother in tune with cymbals and tambourines, while famous folk singers like Manoj Tiwari and Ragini Sopori also anointed Maa Kushmanda with Devi Bhajans till late night.
The program started with the presentation of Bhajans by the Tridev Mandir Sevak Parivar. They first started the Bhajans with ‘Gaaiye Ganpati Jag Vandan’, after which the collective Hanuman Chalisa was recited. After that, the entire temple resonated with Bhajans like ‘Darbar Tera Maiya Jannat Ka Nazaara Hai’, ‘Nacho Gaao Khushi Manao Ki Maiya Aayi Hai’, ‘Sherawali Maa Aayengi Dil Se Pukar Kar Dekho’ etc.
The main singers in the Kirtan group were Anoop Saraf, Radhegovind Kejriwal etc. Along with them were Pankaj Rai on tabla, Pappu on pad, Ranjan on keyboard, Manish Tiwari on dholak.
The second presentation of the function was by bhajan singer Ragini Sopori who came from Delhi.
