Mac Mohan, famous in the world of cinema by the name of ‘Sambha’, was born on 24 April 1938 in Karachi, our neighboring country Pakistan. Before appearing in the film, Mac Mohan was known as Mohan Makhijani. Due to the transfer of his father, Mac Mohan had to settle in Lucknow, the city of Nawabs from Karachi and from there he also completed his studies.

Mac Mohan, famous as a villain in the film world, was not fond of acting at that time, but was fond of cricket and wanted to become a cricketer. The craze for cricket was so much that after working hard, he started playing for the Uttar Pradesh cricket team. Mac Mohan, who set out on the path of making his passion a career, used to think that the best training in cricket is given only and only in Mumbai. Keeping this in mind, he came to Mumbai in 1952.

After working in plays, Bollywood entry happened in the life of Mac Mohan during the year 1964, when he appeared on the silver screen for the first time in the film ‘Haqeeqat’. After this film, he worked in many films, but he got recognition in the industry from a small role in ‘Sholay’.

Tumor took his life

Sambha’s small character in ‘Sholay’ revolutionized Mac Mohan’s life. This character became his lifelong identity for him. After this, he continued to sizzle as a villain on the film screen with other big superstars from Amitabh Bachchan. As a result, the actor acted in about 175 films in his career of 46 years, but the film which proved to be the last film of his career was ‘Atithi Tum Kab Jaoge’.

During the shooting of this Paresh Rawal starrer film, Mac Mohan’s health deteriorated and he was admitted to the hospital. Mac Mohan was diagnosed with a tumor in his lungs, during which his health deteriorated and he died a year later.
