Criminals shot and killed a post master near Athgama Tola of Alamnagar police station area in Madhepura district on Thursday evening. The deceased was identified as Shivratan Mandal, 50-year-old son of late Rasdhari Mandal, resident of Bajraha of Alamnagar police station area. He was the post master of his panchayat Bajraha post office. At around four o’clock in the evening, he left his house for Alamnagar main post office.

Let us tell you that during this time, criminals riding on a bike shot him dead near Bansbari in Athgama Tola, about two km from his house. Shivratan Mandal died on the spot. After the incident, the criminals riding on the bike fled towards Bajraha. As soon as the information of the incident was received, a crowd of people gathered. Family members told that 11 years ago, his elder brother Arvind Mandal was also shot dead by criminals. He had joined the post office after retiring from the army.

Here, there is anger among the villagers about the incident. The villagers are protesting by stopping the dead body and blocking the road. As soon as the information of the incident was received, Udakishunganj SDPO Vasudev Rai, SHO Akhilesh Kumar reached the spot with the police force and are trying to convince the people. But the angry people are demanding to call the SP to the spot.
