This relationship lasted for six months and then they parted ways. The actor asked her to convert, and she refused. She later worked with Bhaijaan (Dilip Kumar) in Sangdil and Mughal-e-Azam. It was a nine year long affair.”
Why did the relationship between Madhubala and Dilip Kumar deteriorate?
Madhubala’s father did not want her to marry Dilip Kumar. There was also a court case during the film Naya Daur, where Madhubala gave a statement against Dilip Kumar under the pressure of her father, after which the relationship between the two deteriorated further. The situation became so bad that during the shooting of the romantic scene of Mughal-e-Azam, both of them did not even talk to each other.

He had revealed, “Madhubala married Kishore Kumar because of his stubbornness and anger towards Dilip Sahab. Their marriage took place in 1960 when the actress was 27 years old.”
