Arjun’s son Abhimanyu gained the knowledge of entering the Chakravyuh in his mother’s womb but did not get the knowledge of getting out of it. This incomplete knowledge proved fatal for him. During the Mahabharata war, he died after getting trapped in Chakravyu. This teaches us that it is important to have complete knowledge of our field of work.
• Gambling is dangerous: The main reason for the beginning of the Mahabharata war is related to gambling. When Pandavas had lost everything in gambling, when finally they put their wife Draupadi at stake and lost in gambling. After this, Draupadi was dismembered, which became the cause of the Mahabharata war. Therefore, we learn from Mahabharata that one should stay away from gambling or betting.
• Attachment to children: Every parent has affection and love for their children. But Mahabharata teaches us that undue attachment to children is wrong. Dhritarashtra also supported his son Duryodhana in his sin to make him the king and thus the Mahabharata war started due to his undue attachment to his son. If Dhritarashtra had been impartial and made Yudhishthir the king, the Mahabharata war could have been stopped. But Dhritarashtra did not do this and the consequence of this was that he had to pay the price of the death of his hundred sons.
• Education of politics: Political education is also given from the story of Mahabharata. We learn from the Mahabharata that no matter how big or powerful the king is, his unjust rule does not last long. Therefore the king should always rule with religion, equality, freedom and justice. If this does not happen then the condition of the king or ruler will be like that of Kansa and Kauravas.
