Regarding the Mahakumbh-2025 to be organized in Prayagraj, the statement of Akhil Bharatiya Akhara Parishad President Mahant Ravindra Puri has come out, in which he said that non-Hindus should not be allowed to set up shops in the Mahakumbh. According to him, handing over tea shops, juice stalls and flower shops to non-Hindus may put the sanctity and security of the religious place at risk.
Mahant Puri told news agency IANS, “We have said that these shops should not be given to them. If they are given shops they will spit and urinate, and our Naga Sadhus will be forced to take action.” He also said that if such an incident happens and someone gets hurt, it will send a wrong message across the world.
Prime Minister’s message of ‘unity and brotherhood’
A few days before this statement of Mahant Puri, the Prime Minister Narendra Modi In his last ‘Mann Ki Baat’ episode of the year, he had appealed for unity and brotherhood in the country. He had asked people to “eliminate the feeling of division and hatred in the society” and described the upcoming Maha Kumbh Mela as a unique scene of unity in diversity.
Prime Minister Modi had said, “The specialty of Mahakumbh is not only in its size. The specialty of Mahakumbh also lies in its diversity. Crores of people participate in this program. Lakhs of saints, thousands of traditions, hundreds of sects, many Akharas, all are involved in this program. There is no discrimination here, no one is big, no one is small. This scene of unity and diversity will not be seen anywhere else in the world.”
All India Muslim Jamaat’s protest
Earlier, All India Muslim Jamaat had opposed the proposal of Akhil Bharatiya Akhara Parishad (ABAP), which suggested to stop non-Hindus from setting up food shops in the fair area during Mahakumbh. He said that this step will create division in the society.
Preparations for Mahakumbh and development of Prayagraj
