Films demanded for ban: Aamir Khanâs son Junaid Khanâs first film âMaharajâ was going to be released on Netflix on June 14, 2024. But Vishwa Hindu Samiti accused the film of hurting religious sentiments and demanded a ban on it. After which the Gujarat High Court banned the release of the film till June 18.
However, this is not the first time that a film has been accused of hurting religious sentiments. Earlier too, many films have been accused of such things and demands have been made to ban them. Annu Kapoorâs film âHumare Barahâ is also in this list.

âHumare Barahâ was scheduled to release on June 14 but today the Supreme Court has banned the release of the film, considering that the film is derogatory to the Islamic faith and married Muslim women.

Stars like Prabhas, Deepika Padukone and Saif Ali Khan appeared in the 2023 film âAdipurushâ. There was a lot of controversy in the film about the language style of the characters and making them wear leather. People had demanded a ban on the film, accusing it of insulting Hindu gods and goddesses.

Akshay Kumarâs film âOMG 2â was released in theatres on 11 August last year. There was a lot of protest against the way the character of Lord Shivaâs messenger was shown in the film. It was said that the deity has been insulted in the film.

âThe Kerala Storyâ was released last year and it proved to be a turning point in actress Ada Sharmaâs life. But the film was surrounded by controversies even before its release. In the film, many girls were shown being forced to convert to Islam. In such a situation, the film was accused of hurting Islamic sentiments.

Shahrukh Khan There was also a demand for a ban on the film âPathanâ released in 2023. Deepika Padukone wore a saffron bikini in the song âBesharam Rangâ of the film, which caused a lot of uproar.
