Maharashtra Assembly Election 2024: In view of the assembly elections in Maharashtra, a situation like Mahasangram has developed. This is because the question that is currently standing between the Mahayuti (NDA) and the Mahavikas Aghadi (MVA) is who will become the Chief Minister. There is a possibility of a clash on the question related to the CM. In such a situation, there is speculation that the parties that are seen together as a component of the alliance may turn against each other from within.
Although the dates of the election have not been announced, the dispute over the CM face in the NDA has started to appear in the form of a poster war. Recently, posters related to Deputy CM and NCP (Ajit faction) chief Ajit Pawar being the future CM were put up in Ganesh pandals in Baramati district. However, this was not the first time that posters of Ajit Pawar being the future CM were put up. Earlier also similar posters and banners have been put up by his party supporters and workers.
Devendra Fadnavis was also told to be the future CM
Meanwhile, posters of the other deputy chief minister and BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis as “future CM” were put up (by BJP officials) in Nanded district. The opposition alliance MVA commented on the poster war in the Mahayuti. Sachin Sawant of the Congress said that the leaders of the Mahayuti should fight among themselves not for the CM but for the post of leader of the opposition, because the MVA government is going to come after the elections. Anand Dubey of the Shiv Sena (Uddhav Thackeray faction) took a jibe and said, “This is the situation when they are not coming to power. Imagine what would have happened when a full majority government was being formed! It is good, let Mungerilal dream sweet dreams.”
What was BJP’s reaction on the poster war?
BJP’s Praveen Darekar said on the poster war in Mahayuti, “Workers of every party feel that their leader should become CM. In such a situation, all three parties feel that their leader should get a big post but there is no difference of opinion among us. After the elections, the CM will be from Mahayuti only. We do not have different opinions like MVA.
Uddhav Thackeray’s U-turn, BJP ridiculed him
Before the political battle, former CM and Shiv Sena (Uddhav faction) chief Uddhav Thackeray made a statement that not only shocked everyone but also raised the political temperature. During a public meeting in Kopargaon, Ahmednagar, he said, “I am not dreaming of becoming CM. I did not dream before and I do not dream now either.” After this statement of his, questions arose whether Shiv Sena’s pressure on Congress and Sharad Pawar’s NCP proved ineffective? Meanwhile, NDA people got a chance to ridicule Uddhav Thackeray. BJP leaders said that Sharad Pawar and Congress showed Uddhav Thackeray his real place in MVA.
On the other hand, Congress, which is part of MVA, took the side of Uddhav Thackeray. Defending him, Congress’ Atul Londhe said that there was never a fight over the CM post in MVA, nor is there and nor will there be. This will be decided after the elections. At the same time, Uddhav Thackeray may have given a statement, but UBT and its leader Sanjay Raut, who often demand the declaration of the CM post, were seen avoiding speaking on this issue on Monday (September 16, 2024). He called it an old issue.
… so this is the opinion of political analysts
According to political expert Anurag Tripathi, as per the current situation, a fight is bound to happen. CM Eknath Shinde The Ladli Behan Yojana of the NDA government led by the NDA government has received a good response in the state, due to which it feels that it can make a comeback to power. This is also a reason why the claim for the CM post in the ruling alliance has intensified. There is a strange uproar regarding the CM face, due to which there is restlessness among the workers working at the lower level. The workers of all the three parties feel that their leader should be the Chief Minister.
Regarding MVA, Anurag Tripathi said that Uddhav Thackeray stepped back from the CM post because Nana Patole and Balasaheb Thorat from Congress have expressed their claim strongly to the Congress high command. On the other hand, Sharad Pawar wants that if the first woman chief minister from the MVA government in the state should be his daughter Supriya Sule. In such a situation, Sharad Pawar’s party is constantly insisting on women’s safety and Shakti bill.
