Eknath Shinde and Devendra Fadnavis Meeting with Amit Shah: Chief Minister on Tuesday (January 24) amid murmurs of cabinet expansion of the Maharashtra government Eknath Shinde (Eknath Shinde) and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis met Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah.

Home Minister Shah held talks with Shinde and Fadnavis at the North Block office in Delhi on Tuesday after meeting representatives of the sugar cooperative sector and all BJP leaders on issues related to the sector. According to news agency PTI, two BJP leaders who attended the sugar sector meeting said, “Shinde and Fadnavis held separate meetings with Shah.”

CM Shinde said this regarding cabinet expansion

After the meeting, Shinde told the media that the expansion of the state cabinet would happen before the budget session of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly. The state cabinet currently has 20 ministers, including Shinde, while the maximum number of ministers in the Maharashtra cabinet can be 43.

Earlier in Mumbai, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis had said that there was no legal and constitutional hurdle in cabinet expansion and would try to do it before the upcoming budget session of the assembly. At the same time, Maharashtra Assembly Speaker Rahul Narvekar has already said that the budget session will start from 27 February.

‘Started with two, then added 18 members…’

In a program of ABP Majha, CM Shinde had said, ”The state cabinet will be expanded soon. We initially started with just two (Shinde and Fadnavis), then added 18 members to the cabinet portfolio. We will add more.

Shinde said this regarding the sugar sector meeting

On the other hand, when asked about the sugar sector meeting, Shinde told reporters, “There was a positive discussion on strengthening and empowering the sugar industry.” Surely the sugar industry and farmers of Maharashtra will benefit from this. The Cooperative Minister will take decisions that will benefit Maharashtra.

CM Shinde said this about the symbol of bow and arrow

Shinde, when asked about the bow-and-arrow symbol petitions filed by him and the Thackeray faction before the Election Commission, said he was confident that his group would be recognized as the real Shiv Sena.

‘We are in power…’

Shinde said, “The Election Commission will decide the matter on the basis of merit. Majority is important in a democracy, so we expect a decision on the basis of merit. We have established the rule of law. So everyone knows what decision will be taken according to law and merit.
