On Mahashivratri, Shiva devotees will witness the marriage of Lord Shiva and Mother Gaura. If the residence of former Mahant Dr. Vice Chancellor Tiwari will be built as Janvasa, the sanctum sanctorum of Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple will be converted into a pavilion. The great festival of Mahashivratri will be celebrated in conjunction with Shivayoga, Sarvartha Siddhi, Siddhi Yoga and Shukra Pradosh. Wedding celebrations of Lord Shiva and Mother Gaura will be organised.
The marriage rituals of Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati have started with the Haldi ceremony. After the ceremony of Haldi, the auspicious songs of marriage are resonating continuously at the residence of the former Mahant in Tedhineem. Today Shiva marriage rituals will be held in all the Shiva temples of the city. The marriage rituals will start after 9 pm on Friday night at Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple.
The ethos of marriage will be fulfilled with Saptarishi Aarti and mantras. The archakas of the temple will perform the marriage of Baba as per the Vedic tradition in the role of bride and groom. The wedding festivities will continue till dawn with four Prahar Aarti throughout the night. The movable silver statue of Baba will be installed in the sanctum sanctorum of the temple.
If Sarvartha Siddhi Yoga happens on Friday, its auspicious effect increases even more. By observing fast on Mahashivratri in Shiva Yoga, your prayers reach Lord Shiva quickly. Siddhi Yoga is being formed during the worship during Nishith period which will provide complete results of the worship of Shiva.
