Mahima Chaudhry On Her Accident: Mahima Chaudhary made her Bollywood debut in the year 1997 with the film ‘Pardes’. This film was a super-duper hit and Mahima Chaudhary also became a star overnight. However, in 1999, the shooting of ‘Dil Kya Kare’ was going on and during that time, Mahima became the victim of an accident which changed her entire life. Due to this accident, marks were left on Mahima’s face.
In a recent interview, Mahima revealed that the accident changed the direction of her career and she had tried everything possible to hide the incident from the public eye. In fact, he was afraid that this might end his acting career.

During an interview with Radio Nasha, Mahima recalled that tragic day in 1999 when a vehicle hit her car. He suffered serious injuries on his face in this accident. Mahima said, “67 pieces of glass were removed from my face.” She told that when this incident happened, she did not realize that there were many wounds on her face and when she looked in the mirror, she realized that her face was injured. Initially, Mahima wanted to continue shooting.

Mahima further revealed that her co-actor and producer Ajay Devgan was very supportive of director Prakash Jha. Mahima said that I had requested her to keep the accident a secret because I was afraid that the news of my injuries would ruin my career. The actress said, “I had requested Ajay and Prakash ji not to tell anyone about my accident. I wanted to see if I could save my career. They respected my wishes and no one from production said a word.
Was hesitant to face the camera due to trauma
Mahima’s accident was kept under wraps but she struggled to deal with the emotional and physical scars. Despite several surgeries, she doubted whether she would ever return to acting. She told, “Ajay used to say that everything will be fine after the surgery, but I did not believe it.” Mahima admitted that during this time, she considered other career options because she was not sure whether she would ever fully recover. The actress said, “Even today, one of my eyes is smaller than the other.” She confessed, and said that due to this trauma she was hesitant to face the camera directly
