Bhojpur. These days in Bhojpur district of Bihar, the whole market is buzzing with the fragrance of Tilkut. Now only a few days are left in the festival of Makar Sankranti. In such a situation, the shops of Tilkut, Chuda, Lai have been decorated in the markets of Bhojpur. Regarding this, the movement in the markets has started increasing as compared to earlier. Shops have been decorated for Makar Sankranti at every square and intersection of the city. Despite the inflation, people are seen buying things ranging from tilkut to lai, jaggery, sesame, bangles according to their status.

The price of all the items used in Makar Sankranti festival has increased as compared to last year. According to religion and customs, people are reaching the markets to buy sesame seeds along with bangles and curd. The demand for tilkut and lye increases on the occasion of Makar Sankranti. Tilkut shops are decorated from the city to the rural areas. It is believed that on the day of Makar Sankranti, the deities descend on the earth and bathe in the Ganges. Because of this, bathing in the Ganges has special significance on this day. There is a tradition of donation after bath. After which common people take diet of curd, bangles, jaggery and tilkut.

Tilkut is available in the market from Rs 240 to Rs 550 per kg

This time the price of Tilkut has increased as compared to last year. This year Tilkut is available in the market at the rate of Rs. 240 to Rs. 550 per kg. Compared to 2022, the prices of goods used during Makar Sankranti have increased significantly. Bangles are being sold in the market at Rs 36 to 40, black sesame at Rs 180 to 200, white sesame at Rs 220 to 240, jaggery at Rs 42 to 48 per kg.
