Ingredients to make Khichdi
Rice – 2 cups
Moong Dal – 1.5 cup
Asafoetida – 1 pinch
Green coriander – 2 tbsp
Cumin – 1 tsp
Green chili – 2
Ginger chopped – 1 tsp
Turmeric – 1/2 tsp
Peas – 1/2 cup
Desi ghee – 2 tbsp
salt – as per taste

Khichdi Recipe
To make Khichdi, first clean the moong dal and rice. After this, wash the lentils and rice with water and soak the lentils and rice in different utensils and keep them for some time. Now take a cooker and put desi ghee in it and heat it on medium flame. When the ghee melts, add cumin and asafetida to it and fry for a few seconds. When the cumin starts crackling, add finely chopped green chillies and ginger and fry it.

Now add turmeric and peas to it and cook while stirring for about 2 minutes. Now put the soaked rice in this roasted spice and cook it for 2-3 minutes while stirring. After this add moong dal and after mixing add water 4 times the quantity of dal-rice. After this add salt and green coriander as per taste, cover the lid of the cooker and cook on high flame.

When 1 whistle comes in the cooker, slow down the flame of the gas and let the khichdi cook for another 5 minutes. After this turn off the gas. Now let the pressure of the cooker release on its own. When the pressure is released, open the lid and check whether the khichdi is cooked or not. Khichdi is cooked, so now it is ready to serve. Take it out in a bowl and serve hot by sprinkling green coriander on top.
