In Agra, the Housing Development Council has sealed 21 buildings in Kamla Nagar, Sikandra and Housing Development Colony for illegal construction and commercial activities. 71 such buildings have been identified. The Deputy Housing Commissioner also reviewed the action after reaching Agra. He gave instructions to issue notices to those carrying out commercial activities. These buildings will be demolished.

Executive Engineer Rajneesh Kushwaha, Assistant Engineer Nisar and three other employees were suspended this month on the charge of taking bribe in the name of illegal construction in Awas Vikas Parishad. After this action, the truth of illegal constructions in the council colonies came to light. Commercial activities are being conducted in every fourth house in Awas Vikas Colony.

Similarly, the basic structure of the colonies in Sikandra Yojna and Kamla Nagar has been changed. The teams conducted a campaign from 11 to 14 June and identified 71 buildings in which illegal constructions have been made. Similarly, 21 buildings were sealed. Malls, restaurants, departmental stores have opened in all the three residential schemes of the council. Activities like boutiques, clinics, coaching have also become common. After the closure of the compounding route, demolition action is certain in most of the cases.

There is bad news for those who are running shops, restaurants or hospitals on residential land. The Housing Development Council has identified such plots with commercial activities. All of these will be demolished.
