The name of this candidate, who has contested the state assembly elections thrice and the Lok Sabha elections twice till now, is Nageshwar Prasad Singh alias Nageshwar Yadav. After selling his cattle in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, he did not accept defeat even after contesting the elections and jumped into the fray in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections also. Every time the public gave about 10 thousand votes to this candidate who contested the elections as an independent candidate. However, after this he forfeited his bail and did not accept defeat. Now once again he is staking his claim for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
As a Lok Sabha candidate, Nageshwar Prasad Singh alias Nageshwar Yadav says that he had taken the pledge to contest the elections in the year 1995 i.e. 29 years ago and then he had come to contest the elections from Aurai assembly constituency, in which he was defeated. Even after that he did not give up and contested the assembly elections in 2000 and again in 2005 from Gaighat area. Independent candidate Nageshwar Prasad Singh alias Nageshwar Yadav says that he belongs to an ordinary farmer family. He even sold his house’s land to raise the expenses to contest the elections, so that one day he would definitely win. Not only this, earlier I used to have 24 cattle, cows and buffaloes. These were also sold to meet the election expenses and deposit the security deposit.
Independents also fought many times
Candidate Nageshwar Prasad Singh alias Nageshwar Yadav says that I have written many times to big political parties BJP, Congress and other parties to contest the elections, if they give me the ticket, I will win, but no one has given me the ticket. In big parties, tickets are bought by paying huge amount, I do not have that much status. Then he filed his nomination as an independent candidate and came into the fray.
