The Supreme Court on Tuesday (April 2) granted bail to Sanjay Singh after six months. In this case, another AAP leader and former Deputy CM of Delhi Manish Sisodia is also in jail for almost a year. It is hoped that just as Sanjay Singh has come out of jail, Sisodia may also get bail.

Actually, the bail plea of ​​Manish Sisodia was heard on Tuesday in Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court. During this, senior lawyer Mohit Mathur, appearing in the court on behalf of Sisodia, said that his client is eligible for bail, because there is no loss to the government exchequer because of him. Before the bench of Special Judge Kaveri Baweja, Sisodia’s lawyer said that no person has suffered any harm because of him.

No purpose is served by keeping Manish Sisodia in custody

Sisodia’s lawyer claimed during the hearing that till now the ED has not been able to prove that any money has reached the former Deputy CM. 11 months have passed since the investigation was completed. The lawyer said that he has been in jail for the last 13 months. He has not misused any freedom given through the court during this period. During the hearing, Sisodia said that no purpose is being served by keeping me in jail any longer.

The former Chief Minister of Delhi said that the investigation of ED’s money laundering case against him has been completed. There is no possibility from my side of obstructing the investigation or destroying evidence related to the case. He also told the judge that if the court decides to grant him bail, he is ready to follow any conditions set by the court. Sisodia’s bail plea is now going to be heard on April 6. He is currently lodged in Tihar Jail.
