Surendra Jaiswal alias Surendra Tiwari, resident of Khanipur, Jaitpur, Gorakhpur was arrested by the police of Cantt police station in an encounter in Anola, Taktakpur. The bullet fired from the police weapon hit Surendra’s right leg. There are 28 cases registered against him like robbery and pickpocketing in Sant Kabir Nagar, Basti, Kushinagar, Deoria, Maharajganj, Gorakhpur and Varanasi districts. Surendra has gone to jail 24 times before his arrest. Criminal Surendra Jaiswal alias Surendra Tiwari.
A pistol-cartridge, a chain, a bracelet, a ring, two tops, a locket, a bike, three mobiles and Rs 1200 were recovered from him. He was produced in the court and sent to jail.
DCP Varuna Zone Chandrakant Meena said that under the leadership of ADCP Sarvanan T, ACP Cantt Vidush Saxena and Cantt SHO Raju Singh and his team’s inspector Surendra Kumar Shukla, Gaurav Kumar Mishra and Ayush Pandey were checking in Anaula and Taktakpur area.
When the police team signaled a bike rider to stop, he ran away very fast. When the police team chased and surrounded him, he opened fire. In retaliation, the police bullet hit the miscreant’s right leg. After getting the miscreant treated, he was interrogated.
During interrogation, he admitted that he was the one who had recently committed the crime of stealing jewellery from old women in Cantt and Phulpur police station areas. DCP Varuna Zone said that a reward of Rs 25,000 has been given to the Cantt SHO and his team for the action.
