Four children drowned while bathing in the pond located in Kushalgaon of Didarganj police station area under Martinganj tehsil of Azamgarh district. The villagers somehow pulled out all four from the pond and took them to the local hospital. From where all the children were referred to Jaunpur Hospital. All four died late evening during treatment in Jaunpur.

Residents of Kushalgaon village, Yash (08) son of Lautan Kumar, Ansh (08) son of Jaichand Kumar, Samar (09) son of Kamlesh Kumar and Rajkumar (05) son of Kamlesh had gone to North Siwan of the village on Wednesday to pluck wheat ears. When the heat got intense, all four children took off their clothes and started bathing in the nearby pond.

During this time all four innocent people drowned in the pond. People grazing cattle nearby saw children’s clothes on the banks of the pond but the children were nowhere to be seen. Information was given in the village on suspicion. On the spot, some people of the village went into the pond to search for the children. Within some time all four children were recovered from the pond.

After this, all four children were immediately taken to a private hospital located in the local Phulesh market. Where the doctor saw the serious condition of all the children and referred them to Jaunpur District Hospital. Where all four children died late in the evening during treatment. Jaunpur police sent all the bodies to the mortuary for postmortem. The incident has created chaos in the entire village along with the family members of the children.
