Married Hindu Girl Abducted In Pakistan Raped After She Refused To Convert To Islam

Married Pakistan Girl: A married Hindu girl who was abducted from Pakistan’s Sindh province has said that her abductors threatened her to convert to Islam and raped her if she refused to convert.

Such cases of oppression against the members of the minority community keep coming to the fore in the country. The girl said in a video uploaded on social media that she was raped in Samaro town of Umerkot district and police are yet to register a case against the suspects.

What did the local leader say?

A local leader of the Hindu community said that till Sunday the police in Mirpurkhas had failed to register a case against the accused named by the girl. “The girl and her family are sitting outside the police station, but no case has been registered so far,” he said.

The girl is already married. He has claimed in the video that he was abducted by Ibrahim Mangrio, Punho Mangrio and their accomplice. The girl said that they threatened her and asked her to convert, but when she refused, she was raped for three days.

‘Minorities are continuously being suppressed in Sindh’

The victim said she returned home after being released from the clutches of her kidnappers. Kidnapping and forced conversion of Hindu girls has become a major problem in interior Sindh. Mainly people of Hindu community live in Thar, Umarkot, Mirpurkhas, Ghotki and Khairpur areas. Most of the members of the Hindu community are laborers in these areas.

In June last year, Hindu girl Karina Kumari told a court here that she was forcibly converted to Islam and married to a Muslim man. In March last year, three Hindu girls—Satran Od, Kavita Bhil and Anita Bhil—were abducted, forced to convert to Islam and married off to Muslim men within eight days.

Even before this many cases have come

In another case, on March 21 last year, Pooja Kumari was brutally shot dead outside her house in Rohri, Sukkur. Not only girls, but even aged Hindu women have been victims of kidnapping and forced conversion. Ghori Kohli, a mother of four, was abducted from Khipro in Sindh and later learned that she had converted to Islam. The woman was married to Ejaz Marri, the accused in her kidnapping.
