On Friday, in broad daylight, near the old RTO bridge in Highway police station area on Agra-Delhi highway, the in-laws stopped a roadways bus and kidnapped the woman who was travelling in it by putting her in a car. The woman was travelling to Delhi in the bus with her lover. There was a stir in the police department. The police caught the woman’s in-laws in Khandauli in Agra late in the evening. The woman was rescued from their clutches. Their interrogation continued till late evening.
A 40-year-old woman, mother of two children, lives in a colony of Refinery Police Station area. She fell in love with a 26-year-old youth from Chhata. On 11 June, the woman eloped with her lover. Her in-laws were searching for her. On Friday, the woman reached Refinery Police Station with her lover. There, she told the police that she wants to live with her lover. There is a threat to her life from her in-laws. The police let them go after both of them were adults and agreed to live together.
In the meantime, somehow the woman’s husband got the information about her reaching the police station. The husband reached in front of the police station with an Ertiga car and two to three companions on bikes. After coming out of the police station, the woman and her lover boarded a roadways bus headed towards Delhi. Chasing that bus, the woman’s husband reached near the old RTO bridge. There he overtook the bus and stopped it. He broke the glass by throwing a stone and after forcibly taking the woman out, he put her in the car and took her away.
During this the woman’s lover ran away due to fear. The bus driver informed the police. Highway police station reached. CCTV was scanned. The car was seen going towards Agra. Police made a route map and also took the help of Agra police. Late in the evening the police succeeded in catching the people who were taking the woman from Khandauli in Agra. CO Refinery Shweta Verma said that the woman has been recovered and the people who were taking her have been caught. The police is interrogating them. The woman’s lover has also appeared before the police. As soon as the complaint is received, a case will be registered under relevant sections.
