Mohammad Ali Jinnah
Let us tell you that in September 1929, when Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru were on hunger strike in jail, a Central Assembly meeting was held in Shimla. Then Mohammad Ali Jinnah was representing Bombay in that Central Assembly. Jinnah had fully supported Bhagat Singh in that assembly.
Jinnah had said that you know very well that he is ready to sacrifice his life also. This is no joke. The person who is going on a hunger strike listens to the voice of his soul and lives for a purpose. It is not everyone’s cup of tea to do this. You will know only when you try this. Jinnah had said that Bhagat Singh was being treated like a criminal instead of a political prisoner, which is absolutely wrong.

Jawaharlal Nehru
Let us tell you that on March 23, 1931, Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdekh were hanged in Lahore. The next day, on March 24, in Delhi, Nehru had said that he had remained completely silent during his last days, so that not a single word of mine could harm the chances of commuting his sentence. I remained silent, but my heart was boiling. Now everything is over. Even all of us could not save him, who was so dear to us and whose magnificent courage and sacrifice is becoming an inspiration for the youth of India.
