The police of Yamunapar police station of Mathura and the SWAT team have succeeded in arresting an inter-district notorious vehicle thief along with 22 stolen two-wheelers. He was produced in the court on Saturday and sent to jail. The accused was very clever. After stealing bikes/scooties from Mathura, he would sell them to people in Aligarh and Bulandshahr at cheap rates by telling them that he had a debt. He has a sister who lives in Khair, Aligarh. After committing the crime, he would go to her house and hide.

SSP Shailesh Kumar Pandey, while addressing a press conference at the police line, said that the cunning thief Bobby alias Rohit son of Netrapal resident of Nagla Hansi, Raya was arrested on Friday from Saur Guddar turn by the team of Jamunapar police station inspector Sanjeev Kumar Dubey and SWAT in-charge Abhay Kumar Sharma on the information of an informer. He had come here to deal with some bikes stolen from Aligarh. 22 two-wheelers (21 motorcycles and one scooter) have been recovered from him.

SSP said that earlier in the year 2019, police had succeeded in recovering 24 stolen bikes and arresting them. Since then, such a big success has been achieved after five years. The team that made the arrest, recovery and disclosure has been given a reward of 25 thousand rupees. He is named in 20 cases. Work is also being done to link the recovered bikes to the cases.
