Changes in weather patterns are being seen from the mountains to the plains. While there was drizzle and thundershowers in many areas of Delhi-NCR on Monday morning, rain and snowfall continued in the mountains too. Even in the month of April, the process of snowfall in Himachal does not stop. Due to rain in Jammu and Kashmir also, people felt coolness at most places this morning. It rained in many parts of the state on Sunday.

Chances of drizzle in Delhi-NCR even today

Monday morning started with drizzle and strong wind in Delhi-NCR. This gave people relief from the heat. The weather department had predicted drizzle today also. During this period the sky is likely to be partly cloudy. During this period, strong surface winds can blow at a speed of 25 to 35 kilometers per hour. At the same time, there is a possibility of dust storm at one or two places. In such a situation, a drop in temperature will be recorded. The maximum temperature is expected to be 38 degrees and the minimum temperature is expected to be 24 degrees Celsius.

Jammu remained colder in April compared to last 10 years

The effect of climate change is visible on the weather. In comparison to the last ten years, Jammu is still cold in the month of April. In the last years, the maximum temperature in April has gone up to 42 degrees, but recently the mercury had reached 35 degrees on the same day. Due to continuous rain, the maximum temperature in Jammu is between 32 to 33 degrees. Even at night, the weather remains cold in most parts of the state. Meanwhile, it rained in many parts of the state on Sunday. Talking about Jammu, according to the data of Meteorological Center, the maximum temperature reached 41.0 degrees Celsius on 28 April 2022 and 41.7 degrees Celsius on 21 April 2017. The heat starts being felt from the end of March. This time the weather has not become like this till April. In the year 2023, the maximum temperature reached 38.7 degrees Celsius on April 17.

Snowfall in Rohtang Pass and Koksar, yellow alert for today and tomorrow

After the change in weather patterns, snowfall in Himachal did not stop even in the month of April. The Meteorological Center has issued a yellow alert of rain and snowfall for 22 and 23 April. There was snowfall in Rohtang Pass and Koksar on Sunday. Heavy rain and hailstorm occurred in Kullu, Chamba and Dharamshala. The weather condition in Himachal is expected to remain bad till 27th April.

Weather conditions worsened in Lahaul-Spiti and Kullu

The weather pattern has deteriorated in districts Lahaul-Spiti and Kullu. On Saturday night, there was snowfall in Rohtang Pass, Koksar, North Portal of Atal Tunnel Rohtang, Sissu etc. in Lahaul, while it rained in Kullu. 12 cm of snow fell in Rohtang Pass and five cm of snow in Koksar. After 9:00 am on Sunday the weather cleared and it was sunny. After the sunshine, the snow that fell around Koksar and Atal Tunnel Rohtang melted. This had no impact on the movement of tourists.
