Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has made very serious allegations against Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena in connection with the Supreme Court hearing regarding the mayoral election. He said on Saturday that the LG forcibly prevented the Delhi government from presenting its side in the Supreme Court. By putting pressure on the Secretary of the Urban Development Department, by rejecting the advocate Gautam Narayan proposed by the Minister of the Delhi Government, Tushar Mehta was made the advocate of the Delhi Government as well. Tushar was also a lawyer for LG in the Supreme Court.
In this way, Vinay Saxena had made Tushar the lawyer of both the Delhi government and the LG as part of a conspiracy, whereas both were from different parties in the Supreme Court. Kejriwal made this disclosure while presenting the relevant documents. Registering a strong objection to the entire matter, Kejriwal termed it interference in judicial administration and a crime. He said that it used to happen in films that some villain used to stop someone from presenting his side in the court. The same thing has been done by LG in Delhi, because LG knew that he had done illegal work, if exposed in the Supreme Court, he would not have been able to show his face.
There were two parties in the court. UD Secretary was directed by Deputy CM Manish Sisodia to appoint Delhi government’s lawyer Gautam Narayan, but at the last moment LG got his lawyer Tushar appointed in place of Gautam. The Delhi government official had no option but to obey the LG’s order. He also gave the Vakalatnama of Delhi Government in favor of Tushar. Apparently, by holding a gun on the officer, threatening to suspend, transfer and ruin his career, he was forced to get the Vakalatnama. The LG and the BJP people wanted to make BJP mayor in an unconstitutional manner, which has been thwarted by the Supreme Court.
It is expected that the mayor’s election will be held according to the court’s decision.
Kejriwal said that AAP’s mayoral candidate Shelly Oberoi had filed a petition in the Supreme Court seeking to deprive the nominated members of the MCD from voting rights in the mayoral elections. Ruling in favor of the Aam Aadmi Party on Friday, a three-judge bench of the Supreme Court has directed that in the first meeting of the MCD, the election for the post of mayor will be held first under the chairmanship of the presiding officer and the nominated members will be allowed to vote in that election. Will not have the right to give. After this, there will be election of deputy mayor and members of the standing committee under the chairmanship of mayor. It is expected that elections will be held in this way in the House meeting of the Corporation.
Roda stuck in LG work: Sisodia
The Delhi government has targeted the Lieutenant Governor over frequent transfers of the secretary of the Public Works Department (PWD). Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia alleged that the body has been made leaderless by transferring the secretary every six months. There have been five PWD secretaries since September 2020. He said that these posts are currently lying vacant, due to which many infrastructure projects have got stuck.
The Delhi government has been making efforts to develop the state’s infrastructure, but frequent changes of PWD secretaries by the LG have hampered progress. This is an abuse of the powers of the LG office and a deliberate attempt to derail the Chief Minister’s vision of transforming Delhi into a world class city. As the head of the department, the PWD secretary heads a team of over 3,000 engineers and officers. Provides administrative and financial approval. Also play a vital role in getting the infrastructure projects completed in the city on time.

Several major infrastructure projects have been affected due to the actions of the LG of Delhi.
