Mohammad Yunus took command after Sheikh Hasina left the country
Sheikh Hasina came to India from Bangladesh after massive protests on August 5, 2024. Currently she is facing several court cases regarding the violence and deaths in Bangladesh. After Sheikh Hasina left the country, an interim government of Mohammad Yunus was formed. After this, there were many atrocities on Hindus and other minorities in Bangladesh. Due to this, relations between India and Bangladesh have deteriorated.
Sheikh Hasina’s close associates are being arrested
It is worth noting that Sheikh Hasina and her close aide Yogi are already facing arrest warrants from the Dhaka-based International Criminal Tribunal and the Yunus government has sought help from the international police organization Interpol for their arrest.
