What does the study say?
Martina Luchetti, assistant professor at Florida State University College of Medicine and author of the study, says that in recent years, it has been seen that memory loss or dementia is more common in people who are socially isolated and have fewer friends. Luchetti and his research team, after analyzing data from 608,561 people around the world and looking at 21 studies, found that loneliness increases the risk of dementia.
In this research, data was taken from America, Europe, Asia and Latin America. An attempt was made to identify the level of loneliness of all the people involved through neuropsychological tests and it was found that such people find themselves isolated from society and may develop amnesia quickly.
