Metro Rules For Stopping Gate With Legs: Lakhs of people travel in Delhi Metro every day. Delhi Metro is no less than a lifeline for Delhi-NCR. Earlier this year, a heart-wrenching incident came to light in Delhi Metro, where a woman died after her saree got stuck in the gate.
Due to this, in view of security, Delhi Metro has issued guidelines for the passengers not to stop the gates from closing in the metro. Many accidents have happened due to this. Doing so is against metro rules. If you show Heropanti to someone to get entry inside the metro. And stops the metro gate with his foot. So because of this you may have to pay a hefty fine.
This much punishment can happen
Many passengers see that a passenger is entering the metro and the gate starts closing before his arrival. So, becoming a hero, he stops the gate with his feet. Doing so is dangerous not only for themselves but for others. So this is also against the rules of DMRC. According to the rules of Delhi Rail Metro Corporation i.e. DMRC, stopping the metro gates from closing can prove costly for you.

According to DMRC rules, if someone stops the gate from closing with his feet in Delhi Metro. Then this is considered a crime under Section 67 of DMRC’s Metro Railway Operation and Maintenance Act 2002. And for this, one may have to pay jail up to 4 years and a fine up to Rs 10,000. So both the punishments can be given simultaneously.

People break rules even to make reels
If we look at the past few times, people making reels on social media have spoiled the atmosphere in Delhi Metro. And because of this the safety of passengers has also come in danger. Many of these people are blocking the metro gate just to go viral on social media. Many such cases have come to light before DMRC in recent times. According to the rules, action can be taken against all these people under Section 67 of the Delhi Metro Railway Act, 2002.
