New Delhi. Due to a fault in the signal on the Violet Line of the Delhi Metro, services were affected for about two hours on Friday. The speed of the metro was very slow during this period. Passengers were delayed in reaching their destinations due to intermittent metro stoppages. Due to the affected services, many commuters had to leave the metro midway and adopt other modes of transport. Due to this, passengers had to spend one and a half to double on other means to reach the destination quickly. During this, the movement of passengers in autos and taxis continued outside the metro stations as well.

At around 9.30 am, Metro tweeted that services between Kashmere Gate-Raja Nahar Singh (Ballabhgarh) are affected. As soon as this information was received, the passengers started worrying about the delay. After this, whoever got the chance, got down at the nearest metro stations and boarded autos and taxis and left for the destination. Although the passengers had to spend more money on other means. Passengers heaved a sigh of relief when metro services were restored to normal again at 11.40 am.

The number of passengers was slightly less due to the holiday

Services have been affected even before technical fault

Passenger Vineet Singh listed the shortcomings of Violet Line as the worst metro line. Problem due to track circuit drop between Lajpat Nagar-Moolchand: DMRC

According to the DMRC, services were affected for about two hours on the Metro line between Lajpat Nagar and Moolchand towards Kashmere Gate (up line section) due to a track circuit drop problem at around 9.30 am. During this time the metro was passing through the restricted speed on this section. Due to this, the passengers coming from Ballabhgarh, Faridabad to Delhi had to face a lot of problems. Metro ran at a slow speed from many stations including Badarpur Border, Jasola. Due to this, passengers on the Violet Line were delayed in reaching their destinations.
