Microsoft has taken an optimistic view about the future of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in India. According to Punit Chandhok, President of Microsoft India and South Asia, AI technology is being rapidly adopted in different industries. Especially with the increasing popularity of tools like “Copilot”, AI technology is expanding rapidly.
Chandok said in an interview to PTI, “People’s thinking about AI has changed from skepticism to now focusing on realistic and positive effects. Microsoft believes that the potential of AI is not only technical but also important at the social level. “Can bring change.”
What did Microsoft India Head say?
Chandhok also stressed the need to give priority to security, data privacy, transparency and bias in the development of AI. He said, “‘Security’ in any technology must be ensured during the design, not added later. Microsoft is committed to keeping its customers’ data safe and using AI ethically.” .”
Chandhok says, “India is one of the fastest growing regions for Microsoft globally. It has more than 7000 listed companies and is the third largest startup ecosystem in the world. India is home to more than 60 million small “And medium businesses (SMBs), which provide a great opportunity for the widespread use of AI.”
Bright future of AI in India
India also has an excellent position on Microsoft’s GitHub platform. Currently around 1.5 crore Indian developers are active on this platform, and in the next few years this number may even surpass the US. Chandhok also said that one-sixth of the world’s AI researchers and developers come from India.
According to a recent study, every fourth employee joining the world’s workforce in the next ten years will be from India, which shows India’s growing influence globally. Given the wide access to skill training, digital infrastructure and technology for the development of AI in India, Microsoft believes that India is moving towards becoming a global center of AI.
