Children testimony: There have been many such murder cases around the world, whose first has not been solved till date. In India too, such cases have been reported in the last few years, where the police did not find any evidence and witness. A few days ago a similar case came, in which a husband claimed that his wife had committed suicide. However, a few days later, her little girl made a drawing and revealed the whole matter and told how her father killed her mother. Now the Supreme Court has given a big verdict regarding one such case, in which it has become clear that minor can become witnesses.
How many young children can become a witness?
Till now there was confusion about the fact that more young children in age cannot become a witness in case of murder. Because they can speak anything in such cases. However, the Supreme Court has now made it clear that there is no age limit for testimony. That is, children of young age can also be made witnesses in such a case.
What is the whole matter?
In fact, a case of murder was revealed from Madhya Pradesh, in which a man killed his wife in front of his 7 -year -old daughter. After which the police registered a case against the person on the testimony of the same girl and the case went to the High Court. In this case, the High Court refused to accept the testimony of the girl and orders were issued to acquit the accused. After which the Supreme Court turned the matter and made it clear that there should be no age limit in testimony. The Supreme Court also said that the statements of children can be easily changed, in such a situation, the police must take precautions.
Reversing this decision, the Supreme Court made it clear that if the child is able to testify or identify, then he can testify like any other witness and it will be valid. It is not right to deny the testimony of the child in such a way. In this case, the Supreme Court has sentenced the accused father to life imprisonment.
