On May 26, late at night, armed masked criminals attacked the house of a bullion trader with the intention of looting. The businessman fought back strongly. Unsuccessful in the robbery, the criminals also pointed their gun at the bullion trader’s son. When there was noise, the criminals injured the bullion trader by hitting him with the butt of the gun and fled. The entire incident was captured on the CCTV camera installed in the house. On getting information about the incident, Kotwali Sadar police and the SP reached the spot and took information about the incident from the victim. The police got the injured businessman medically examined at the Bagla District Hospital. A complaint has been lodged at Kotwali Sadar regarding the incident.

Saurabh Agrawal, son of Deepak Saraf, resident of Agrasen Vihar Colony situated on Agra Road in Kotwali Sadar area, has a bullion shop in Lohat market of the city. Saurabh returned home from Agra on the night of 26 May. After coming from Agra, he went to eat at a hotel in the city. When he returned home after eating, he got the gate opened. Then four to five armed criminals came in a car from behind and entered the house. Seeing this, Saurabh was shocked. Meanwhile, Saurabh’s wife and daughter closed the second door of the house from inside. On this, the criminals got angry and started beating the bullion trader.

The criminals kept on pressuring Saurabh to open the door of the house, but the daughter and wife did not open the door. The businessman fought fiercely with the criminals. The criminals tried to open the gate by threatening the businessman’s son Suryansh with a pistol, but the businessman kept fighting with the criminals. The criminals injured Saurabh by hitting him on the head with the pistol butt and snatched the gold chain around his neck and the 10 gram gold coin pendant in the chain. The criminals fled when the businessman’s wife and daughter raised an alarm. This entire incident was captured on the CCTV camera installed in the house.

On receiving the information, Kotwali Sadar police also reached the spot. Later, SP Nipun Agarwal, ASP Ashok Kumar, CO City Ram Pravesh Rai also reached the spot and enquired about the incident from the victim bullion trader. Police also took the help of dog squad to search for the miscreants. Police also scanned the CCTV cameras installed in the colony. On getting information about the incident in the morning, many businessmen of the city reached the house of the victim businessman and enquired about the incident. Later, along with the bullion trader, a large number of businessmen reached Kotwali Sadar and gave a written complaint regarding the incident.
