On Monday night, Rajesh Mishra protested against the miscreants who robbed his friend’s chain on Bairawan Road, some distance away from Mohansarai police post in Varanasi district. Rajesh Mishra alleges that a bike-riding criminal shot him when he protested against robbing the chain. The bullet hit his left shoulder near his neck. He was taken to the trauma center of BHU. Police are investigating the allegation.

Rajesh Mishra and Santosh Pal, residents of Bairwan village of Rohania police station area, were going home on the same bike. Santosh Pal was riding a bike. Rajesh told that two miscreants came on bike on Mohansarai to Bairwan road. Both the miscreants started snatching the chain of Santosh Pal. When Rajesh protested, a miscreant targeted him and shot him. The bullet fired from the weapon hit him on the left side below his neck. After this the miscreants riding the bike fled towards Rajatalab.

Rajesh called and informed the family members and went to Mohansarai post. Rajesh was taken to a private hospital in Bhadwar, from where he was referred to BHU Trauma Centre. In this regard, Rohinaya police station incharge Yogendra Prasad said that information about firing has been received. The injured is not able to tell anything clearly about the incident. This matter is being investigated.
