Kishanganj: DM Tushar Singla suspended a junior engineer working in Kishanganj with immediate effect for missing from duty. DM said that negligence at any level in election work will not be tolerated. Punitive action will be taken against the negligent person.

Missing from duty has proved costly for a junior engineer working in Kishanganj. Actually, under the Lok Sabha general elections, voting is to be held in Kishanganj district on 26th April. Many enforcement works are being done by the district administration to ensure that the elections are conducted in a clean, fair and fear-free manner. In this sequence, various static monitoring teams have been formed in the district.
During the investigation of the senior officer, it was found that Magistrate Vashi Reza, who is the junior engineer of Nagar Panchayat Bahadurganj, deputed in the second shift at the check post constructed on Dighalbank main road, was found absent. Due to his dereliction of duty and gross negligence in election work, he has been suspended with immediate effect under Section 134 of the Representation of the People Act 1951.

On this, DM Tushar Singla said that along with this, the headquarters of Vashi Reza has been fixed as the Establishment Branch Collectorate complex during the suspended period. He further said that negligence at any level in election work will not be tolerated. Punitive action will be taken against the negligent person.
