Tokhan Sahu, who has traveled from Panch to MP, is currently also the State President of BJP Kisan Morcha. Sahu started his political career as a Panch in 1994 from a small village Surajpura in Lormi. After this he became Sarpanch, then Zilla Parishad member and then in 2013 he was elected as MLA for the first time from Lormi Assembly seat. In this election he got 52 thousand 302 votes. Congress’s Dharmjeet Singh was at second place who got 46 thousand 61 votes. In the year 2014-15 he was a member of Women and Child Welfare Committee, Member Delegated Assembly Committee, Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly. In the year 2015 he was the Parliamentary Secretary in the Raman Government.

Sahu gave BJP victory for the 7th time in Bilaspur

BJP’s Tokhan Sahu has won Bilaspur Lok Sabha seat, one of the important seats of Chhattisgarh. He has won by 1 lakh 64 thousand 558 votes. Tokhan has got a total of 7 lakh 24 thousand 937 votes. Congress candidate Devendra Yadav has got 5 lakh 60 thousand 379 votes. Sahu has given BJP victory in Bilaspur for the 7th time. In this way, the margin of victory was 1 lakh 64 thousand 558. Sahu’s total vote percentage was 53.25 and Yadav’s was 41.16 percent. This time there was a direct contest between BJP’s farmer leader Tokhan Sahu and Congress’s Bhilai MLA Devendra Yadav.
