Government Free Ration Scheme: The Government of India runs different types of schemes for the citizens of its state. Crores of people in the country get the benefits of these schemes. During the Corona period, the Government of India had started the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana. Under this, crores of people of the country are benefited. Now the government has taken a big decision to extend this scheme for 5 years.
Free ration scheme extended for 5 years
The Government of India had started the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana during the Corona period. Under which every poor needy person is given free ration up to 5 kg. Now the Government of India has extended the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana for the next five years from January 1, 2024. Due to which 80 crore people of the country will benefit.

These people get benefits
Under the Prime Minister Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana of the Government of India, the government has fixed some eligibility criteria. Under the scheme, such families whose head of the family is widow or seriously ill. So the family gets the benefit of this scheme. Along with this, landless agricultural labourers, marginal farmers, rural artisans/craftsmen like potters, cobblers, weavers, blacksmiths, carpenters, slum dwellers, and persons earning livelihood on daily basis in informal sector like porters, rickshaw pullers etc. Benefits are given to hand cart drivers, fruit and flower sellers, snake charmers, rag pickers, cobblers and destitute people.

To avail the benefits of this scheme, any ration card holder can go to the ration dealer’s shop. There you will have to get your identity verified through fingerprint at the POS machine by showing your ration card. Through this you can avail the benefit of free ration facility. For this it is necessary for you to have both Aadhar card and ration card.
